Homecoming is a Shadow of Death map on an Extra Large 144 by 144 underground level, set at Impossible difficulty. Five players take part, up to four of them human, and the Orange side is computer-only and plays the Dungeon faction. The other four colors each field Castle, Rampart, Tower, Stronghold and Conflux, and no teams are set. After a long journey, the hero learns that a once-prosperous homeland has been seized by Cole, a servant of the Devil, and that former allies have declared war. Victory requires defeating all enemies, and a player loses by losing all towns and heroes. The terrain is mostly grass, rock and subterranean ground, with some water. The map holds 28 towns and 107 mines, along with many wandering stacks, including Black Dragons, and artifacts such as the Cornucopia and Elixir of Life.
