In Search of Adventure is a large underground map for Shadow of Death, measuring 108 by 108 tiles and set at the Impossible difficulty. Five players take part, but only one can be human, and the other four colors are computer controlled and grouped into three teams. Castle, Tower, Stronghold, Rampart, and Dungeon each command one side. The story follows a young prince who returns from a campaign to claim the throne after his kingdom is attacked, and who seeks counsel from a council of wise elders that reveals the legend of the ancient Grail. The terrain is mostly rock, grass, and snow, with very little water. Wandering Black Dragons, Archangels, and Vampire Lords roam the land, alongside 53 mines and 21 monoliths and portals. Victory and defeat both depend on a specific hero.
