The Titans' Winter is a large surface map of 108 by 108 tiles, rated hard. Six players take part, with up to three human players and three computer-only colors, and there are no teams. According to the author's premise, a violent earthquake split the land and left many rival factions, and the player must reunite the realm under their own banner. Red, Blue, and Tan play Tower, Green plays Stronghold, Orange plays Dungeon, and Purple plays Castle. Victory requires defeating every enemy, and a player loses by losing all towns and heroes. Snow covers about 42 percent of the land, with water at 21 percent, grass at 19 percent, and subterranean terrain at 18 percent. The map holds eleven towns, 60 mines, two creature banks, 80 random monster stacks, the Ring of Infinite Gems, and nine random artifacts.
