Diabolical Quest is a hard, extra large underground map for Restoration of Erathia, set on a 144 by 144 grid. One human player commands the Castle forces against a computer-controlled Inferno army, and there are no teams. Monsters hidden deep below the surface are said to be preparing to rise and claim the world above, and the Castle side must stop their armies before that happens. Water and rock each cover about 42 percent of the terrain, with lava and grass making up the rest. Four towns and eight heroes share the map with many wandering stacks, including skeleton warriors and pit lords, plus artifacts such as the Arms of Legion and the Ogre's Club of Havoc. Victory requires defeating a specific hero, and losing a specific hero ends the game.
