Luck of the Irish is an extra large underground map of 144 by 144 tiles, set for eight players with seven human slots and one computer-only Green player. The author's brief note is a playful call to land and face a rough crew of pirates. Rock covers about a third of the terrain, with water making up roughly a sixth, and the rest is dirt and grass. Each player begins with a different town type, from Fortress to Necropolis, and there are no fixed teams. Victory requires defeating every enemy, while a player loses by losing all towns and heroes. The map holds 35 towns, 18 starting heroes, and the Grail, along with wandering stacks of powerful undead and dragons and placed artifacts such as the Lion's Shield of Courage. It is rated Hard.
