The Lord of the Rings is an Extra Large 144x144 map for In the Wake of Gods, playable with up to eight human players in two teams, with an underground level included. Its description says it aims for a faithful rendering of Middle-earth, based on Tolkien's trilogy. Eight players start with factions including Castle, Inferno, Rampart, Stronghold, Conflux and Tower, and the rules are Hard. Victory requires defeating all enemies, while a player loses once all towns and heroes are gone. Rock covers about 44 percent of the land, with rough ground, dirt and water making up most of the rest.
