Liberator is a large underground map measuring 108 by 108 tiles, built for the Restoration of Erathia version of the game and set at Impossible difficulty. It supports six players, with one human seat and five computer-controlled colors (Red, Blue, Tan, Orange and Pink), and no teams are defined. Terrain is mostly rock, with water covering about 29 percent of the surface and lava and grass making up the rest. Red holds the widest mix of factions, while Blue plays Dungeon, Tan plays Inferno, and Green, Orange and Pink field Castle-based armies alongside Stronghold, Fortress or Necropolis. Winning requires defeating every enemy, and the player loses once all towns and heroes are gone. The map contains 33 towns, dozens of wandering monster stacks including Archangels and Arch Devils, twelve seer huts, six monoliths and portals, mines, and a set of placed artifacts.
