Les Marais de la Désolation is a Hard map on a large 108 by 108 grid with an underground level. It supports four players, up to three of them human, and the Green player is computer-controlled. There are no fixed teams. The Fortress, Inferno, Rampart and Stronghold factions each hold a seat. According to the author, the feared masters of the marshes have terrorized the realm of Dexic, and its three lords sent the sorcerer Solmyr to end the tyranny. Rock covers nearly half the map, with water about a quarter and swamp roughly a tenth. Victory requires defeating all enemies, and a player loses by losing every town and hero. Notable features include twelve towns, fifty-five mines, five creature banks, two monoliths and portals, and named artifacts such as the Hourglass of the Evil Hour and the Helm of Chaos.
