La Terre Oubliée is an extra large underground map for Shadow of Death, sized 144 by 144 with both surface and underground levels. Eight players each control one faction, from Inferno and Tower to Necropolis and Pink's Rampart, and all eight seats can be taken by humans, with no teams and no computer-only colors. The author describes a long-forgotten land where armies fight to defend their banners, and the player is hired as a commander to finally clear out the neighbors. Victory requires defeating all enemies, while a loss comes when all towns and heroes are gone. Water covers nearly half the map, and the terrain also includes grass, lava, and subterranean ground. Players will find 31 towns, 85 mines, and 343 randomly placed artifacts, along with wandering elemental stacks and several dragon groups.
