King's Bounty — SoD
Overview
Written from the facts in this map's file
King's Bounty is an extra large 144 by 144 map for Shadow of Death, set on a single surface level and rated hard. Five players share the map, with only one human seat, while the other four colors are computer controlled. Blue plays with a Castle and Stronghold and is paired in a two-team split against the Castle-only opponents. Almost half of the terrain is water, with grass and sand covering the rest. The stated goal is to recover a specific artifact, a scepter stolen from the realm, before time runs out after roughly 336 days. The map is built on the 1990 original and features 48 towns, 18 heroes, six Green Dragon wanderers, a range of dwellings, and several powerful artifacts such as the Sword of Judgement and the Elixir of Life.
