This Extra Large underground map, 144 by 144 tiles, follows northern kingdoms that keep fighting one another while a greater danger gathers to the south. Their rivalry becomes a struggle for survival and dominance, and the most formidable foe is the Nilfgaardian empire, played by the purple computer-controlled side. Eight colors take part, seven of them open to human players, with no fixed teams and a Normal difficulty setting. Factions include Rampart, Tower, Stronghold, Castle, Fortress, Inferno, Necropolis and Dungeon. Victory requires defeating all enemies, and a player loses by losing every town and hero. Rock and water cover much of the land, and the map holds 26 towns, 84 mines, 32 creature banks and placed artifacts such as the Sword of Hellfire and the Golden Bow.
