Hard resolve — SoD

Hard Resolve is a medium-sized underground map of 72 by 72 tiles, played on two levels, and rated for expert players. It supports eight players, with seven seats open to humans and one computer-only Pink player who starts with a fixed set of six factions: Castle, Rampart, Tower, Inferno, Dungeon and Stronghold. The other seven colors receive random factions. There are no teams, so every player fights alone. Victory requires defeating all enemies, and a player loses once all of their towns and heroes are gone. Grass, subterranean and swamp ground make up most of the land, with very little water. The map holds 36 towns and 12 starting heroes, along with 92 mines, 136 creature banks, 18 monoliths and portals, and the Grail. Wandering Orc Chieftains and Trolls are common, and a few Azure Dragons and a Hydra roam the field.
