The Griffin People is a medium underground map for Shadow of Death, sized 72 by 72. The author describes a valley where many peoples once lived apart, and an army that rode griffins as mounts under a commander named Dimchipik, which took control of the whole region. Eight players can take part, with at most one human, and there are no teams. The factions are Castle, Stronghold, Inferno, Fortress, Tower, Conflux, Necropolis and Rampart. Victory requires defeating all enemies, and a player loses by losing all towns and heroes. Rock covers almost half the terrain, with grass, water and swamp taking up much of the rest. Royal Griffin and Griffin stacks roam the land, and the map holds eleven random artifacts, the Grail, 39 mines and nine monoliths and portals.
