Gageteer's Gnolls is a large underground map of 108 by 108 tiles, set in the Tatalian province of Breath after a savage attack has left it devastated. It supports six players with three human seats at most, while Blue, Tan and Purple are computer-only, and the players form three teams. The factions include Castle, Tower, Fortress, Inferno, Necropolis and Dungeon, with Purple drawing on four of them. Victory requires defeating all enemies, and the game is lost if time runs out after 168 days. Swamp, rock and water cover much of the terrain, and the map is rated Expert. Wandering Magog, Pikemen, Gnoll Marauders and Griffins roam the land, while the map holds 31 towns, 80 mines, 26 seer huts, 27 creature banks and 14 monoliths and portals, along with a number of placed artifacts.
