Four WarLords is a large underground map measuring 108 by 108, set in the Shadow of Death version of the game and rated Impossible. It supports six players, with five colors controlled by the computer and room for only one human player, and there are no fixed teams. The factions in play are Dungeon, Tower, Castle, Rampart, Necropolis and Conflux, one per player. Victory requires transporting a specific artifact, and a player is eliminated after losing all towns and heroes. The land is mostly grass and dirt, with sizable stretches of subterranean and rough terrain and only a small share of water. Scattered across it are 41 towns, 27 pre-placed heroes, 139 mines, and 277 random monster stacks, along with four named artifacts such as the Ring of Infinite Gems and the Everflowing Crystal Cloak.
