Fools Gold is an extra large underground map for Restoration of Erathia, set on a 144 by 144 board with both surface and underground levels. Its author describes a story in which the lower classes have rebelled, leaving the player's realm without workers for its fields and mines, and word arrives that the King's long-hidden treasure has been found beneath the land. Five players take part, with up to four controlled by humans and one computer-only Orange, and no teams are set. Every player begins with a random faction. Victory requires defeating all enemies, and a player loses by losing every town and hero. Rock covers about 39 percent of the terrain and water about 33 percent. The map holds eight towns, a single starting hero, 66 mines and the Grail, along with a range of guarded dwellings, ten monoliths and portals, and fifteen named artifacts.
