Eight players each start with a different faction, from Castle to Dungeon, and all eight slots can be human, with no teams and no computer-only colors. Rock, grass, and water cover most of the land, and subterranean terrain makes up a further share. The map holds 48 towns, 26 heroes, 79 mines, 77 creature banks, 38 monoliths and portals, and 531 random artifacts, along with 15 named artifacts. Wandering Dread Knights, Crystal Dragons, and Faerie Dragons roam the land. Victory comes from transporting the Helm of the Alabaster Unicorn to a designated town, and a player is eliminated after losing all towns and heroes.
