Evil Demon Queen is an extra large map of 144 by 144 tiles with underground levels. It supports five players, with up to four controlled by humans and the Orange player computer-only, fielding Inferno. The other colors get random factions, and there are no teams. The story centers on tracking down a hostile demon queen and her army in order to destroy her. Victory comes from defeating all enemies, and a player loses after losing all towns and heroes. Rock covers most of the terrain, with water, grass and lava making up the rest. Twelve towns, three starting heroes, 88 mines and 11 creature banks are spread across the map, with Dread Knights and Water Elementals roaming the land. Artifacts such as the Sword of Judgement and the Grail are also placed here.
