El comandante — WoG

Overview

Written from the facts in this map's file

El comandante is an Extra Large 144x144 underground-enabled map for In the Wake of Gods, played on Impossible difficulty for eight players, with up to two human players and six computer-only colors. There are no teams. Each side fields a different town type, from Tower and Dungeon to Conflux and Castle, and the map is mostly dirt, snow, sand, and grass with a little water. Victory requires defeating all enemies, while a player loses by losing every town and hero. The map has 24 towns, nine placed heroes, and 107 creature banks, along with quest guards, monoliths and portals, and several artifacts such as Boots of Speed and an Endless Purse of Gold. The author's stated theme is that troops are hard to come by, so players must hold on to the units they gather.
