Edelnorf — RoE

Edelnorf is an extra large underground map for five players, with four seats open to humans and one held by the computer in orange. Its 144 by 144 grid is split mainly between rock, grass, water, and subterranean ground, with water covering about a fifth of the surface. The author's description speaks of a long peace broken when an evil lord of the underworld decides to disturb the people of the land. Each player controls a different faction, from Rampart and Stronghold to Tower, Castle, and Dungeon, and no teams are set. Victory comes from capturing one specific town, while a player loses by losing all towns and heroes. The map holds thirteen towns and ten heroes, along with ninety mines, eight creature banks, two monoliths or portals, and seventy placed artifacts, with eight wandering monster stacks of notable creatures roaming the land.
