Dark Knight is a large 108 by 108 map, played on the surface with no underground level, for four players with one human player allowed and three computer-only colors. It is set for Expert difficulty and uses two teams. Tan, Orange and Purple are all Necropolis, while Green plays Castle. The story follows a human general who has been resurrected as a lich and sent against the human kingdoms, and the goal for the player is to defeat that specific hero before the 168-day limit runs out. The map holds eleven towns, nine placed heroes, and a Grail. Wandering lich, griffin and skeleton warrior stacks are common, and there are dwellings, mines, seer huts, creature banks, and a number of placed artifacts such as the Orb of the Firmament and the Endless Purse of Gold. Dirt and grass cover most of the land, with water making up about 15 percent.
