The Contest - November 2000 map is a small underground-enabled scenario on a 36 by 36 tile board, pitting seven players against one another across two levels. Only one seat can be taken by a human, with the other six handled by the computer, and the players form four teams. The factions are Castle for Red and Blue, Dungeon for Tan and Teal, Fortress for Green, Necropolis for Orange, and Stronghold for Purple. Victory requires defeating every enemy, while a player falls once all their towns and heroes are lost. The terrain is mostly subterranean, rock, grass and rough ground, with no water. Wandering Minotaur Kings, Black Knights and Dread Knights roam the map, and the Arms of Legion, Legs of Legion and an Endless Purse of Gold are among the placed artifacts.
