Castaways is a large 108 by 108 map with an underground level, set at the Impossible difficulty. Its story follows Nagash and Octavia, who wash up on an unknown shore after their boat crashes and must join forces to tame the hostile land. Eight players share the map, with up to 2 controlled by humans and the other 6 by the computer. There are no teams. The factions are Inferno, Stronghold, Tower, Dungeon, Rampart, Castle, Necropolis, and Fortress. Victory requires defeating all enemies, and a player loses by losing all towns and heroes. Rock covers most of the terrain, with subterranean ground, sand, and swamp making up much of the rest, and water is a small share. Players will find 17 towns, 73 mines, 10 creature banks, and wandering Titans and a Ghost Dragon.
