Four players take part, with up to three human players, and the Pink side is reserved for the computer. There are no teams. Red and Pink play Castle, Blue plays Tower, and Tan plays Rampart. Victory requires carrying a specific artifact to the southern enemy castle after defeating the other two opponents. Losing means being left without any towns or heroes. Rock covers about 47 percent of the land, with water near 21 percent and grass near 18 percent. The map holds eight towns, 45 mines, four creature banks, two monoliths or portals, and artifacts such as Armageddon's Blade and the Orb of Tempestuous Fire.
