Armageddon is a large underground map measuring 108 by 108, rated at the Impossible difficulty, and built for eight computer-controlled players with a single human seat at most. The seven rival colors fight as three teams, drawing on Inferno, Castle, Necropolis, Dungeon, Stronghold, Fortress, Rampart and Tower. Terrain is mostly rock, with dirt, lava and subterranean ground making up much of the rest, along with a small share of water. Victory requires capturing one particular town, while the human player loses if a specific hero falls. The map holds 29 towns and a Grail, plus wandering monsters such as Arch Devils and Magogs, 53 mines, and numerous artifacts, with 24 timed events shaping the course of play.
