April Battles — SoD
Overview
Written from the facts in this map's file
April Battles is a large, 108 by 108 underground map for Shadow of Death, set on Impossible difficulty. Six players take part, but only one can be human, and the other five colors are computer-controlled. The players form two teams, and the factions include Necropolis, Tower, Fortress and Stronghold, with Tower and Stronghold each appearing twice. Victory requires defeating every enemy, and the scenario is lost if time expires at 336 days. Rock covers about 45 percent of the terrain and snow about 28 percent, with only a small share of water. The map contains 19 towns, 68 mines and 18 creature banks, and many wandering Wraith stacks roam its paths. Placed artifacts include the Cape of Velocity, Cards of Prophecy, Clover of Fortune, Equestrian's Gloves and Ladybird of Luck.
