Alternative World — RoE
Overview
Written from the facts in this map's file
Alternative World is a large 108 by 108 map with an underground level, rated expert difficulty. Four players are placed, but only one can be human, and the other three colors are computer-controlled. There are no teams. Rampart, Inferno, Castle, and Necropolis each hold one starting position. Victory requires defeating all enemies, and a player loses by losing all towns and heroes. The map has 22 towns and 48 mines, with about 43 percent rock and 21 percent water. Wandering monsters include a Black Dragon and a Pit Lord, and placed artifacts include the Armor of Wonder and the Crown of the Supreme Magi. The goal is to collect creatures, artifacts, and towns before the rivals do.
