Gates of Hell is a huge underground map by CarloSS, set on a 180 by 180 board for Horn of the Abyss 1.7.0 or later. Its stated goal is to destroy the hordes of hell, and it is rated Impossible. Five players take part, with up to four controlled by humans. The fifth, Orange, is computer-only and plays Inferno. The other colors receive random factions, and no teams are set. Victory requires defeating all enemies, while a player loses by losing all towns and heroes. Rock covers about 37 percent of the map and water about 17 percent. Sixteen towns and eight starting heroes are placed, and the map includes the Grail, 40 random artifacts, and several specific artifacts. It also has 67 mines, 113 creature banks, 23 seer huts, and 17 monoliths and portals.
