World of the LotR — SoD
Overview
Written from the facts in this map's file
World of the LotR is a large 108 by 108 map with an underground level, set on Impossible difficulty for five players, up to two of them human. The players form two teams. Red plays Inferno, Blue and Tan play Tower, Green plays Rampart, and Purple plays Castle, with Blue, Tan and Purple controlled by the computer. Victory means defeating all enemies, and a player is eliminated after losing all towns and heroes. Rock covers about 45 percent of the land and water about 17 percent. The 14 towns and 52 mines shape the play, wandering Trolls are the most common threat, and artifacts such as the Dragon Scale Shield are scattered across the map. The author's description says Sauron has lost his Ring and offers a reward to whoever returns it.
