This Lord of the Rings map for In the Wake of Gods is inspired by J.R.R. Tolkien's trilogy and aims to closely reproduce the landscape of Middle-earth. It is an extra large 144 by 144 map with an underground level and a Hard difficulty setting. Eight players, all of whom can be human, share the field in two teams, using the Castle, Inferno, Rampart, Stronghold, Tower, and Conflux factions. Victory requires defeating all enemies, and a player loses after losing every town and hero. Rock covers about 44 percent of the terrain and water about 12 percent. Notable features include 28 towns, 118 mines, 20 seer huts, six creature banks, and artifacts such as the Thunder Helmet and the Shield of the Dwarven Lords.
