Waiting Game is a medium 72x72 Hard map for eight computer-controlled colors split into four teams, with a single human player allowed. Seven factions hold the surface while one plays underground, and the author hints that one of the surface sides has made a pact with the devil. Victory requires a team to capture the subterranean town of Devils' Head, and a player loses once all their towns and heroes are gone. Factions in play include Inferno, Tower, Necropolis, Dungeon, Rampart, Fortress, Stronghold and Castle. Subterranean ground covers about half the map, with water and swamp making up much of the rest. Notable features include wandering Master Genies, Gorgons, Pit Lords and Champions, a Genie-guarded dwelling set, and a number of artifacts such as the Cape of Velocity and Dragon Scale Armor.
