Overview
Written from the facts in this map's file
In Search of Mana is a medium Shadow of Death map of 72 by 72 tiles with underground levels, rated Impossible. Three players, all of them human, each control one faction: two Castle players and one Tower player, with no teams. The story centers on a search for magical energy that has run dry in the local lands, and players pick one of three camps to back. Terrain is mostly rock and grass, with snow and subterranean areas. The map has 122 random monster stacks, 22 mines, 17 creature banks, seven monoliths and portals, and many placed artifacts, including the Talisman of Mana. Victory requires acquiring one specific artifact, and a player loses by losing every town and hero.
