Volsunga Saga — RoE

Volsunga Saga is a large underground map for six players, each human-controllable and playing alone, with no teams. It spans 108 by 108 tiles and is rated hard. The map was made for the Restoration of Erathia version of the game. Its description speaks of a great treasure hidden in misty northern forests and invites players to destroy every rival and rule the region. Each side starts with one of six towns: Castle, Tower, Inferno, Stronghold, Fortress, and Rampart. Terrain is mostly rock, with grass covering about a quarter of the area and water about a sixth. The map is won by eliminating all enemies, and a player loses once all their towns and heroes are gone. Scattered across the land are wandering monsters such as Royal Griffins, Medusa Queens and Naga Queens, along with 58 random artifacts, 42 mines, 18 creature banks and nine timed events.
