Vengeance is mine — SoD

Overview

Written from the facts in this map's file

Vengeance is mine is an extra large, expert-level map of 144 by 144 tiles with an underground level. Eight players take part, but only one can be human, and the other seven are computer controlled, with no teams. Stronghold, Fortress, Rampart, Necropolis, Tower, Castle and Dungeon are all in play, with two Stronghold players. Victory requires defeating one specific hero, while a player loses by losing all towns and heroes. Dirt covers much of the terrain, with swamp, grass and water making up the rest. The map contains 34 towns, 39 heroes, 59 mines and the Grail, plus artifacts such as the Shield of the Damned. Its 129 random monster stacks add to the challenge.

Author's description

Self-consciousness is not a gift bestowed by Fate; rather, it represents the utmost peak of Spirituality - an aim for which only the truly suffering will strive. But suffering comes from endless sources, and those who are slaves to the flesh shall forever remain ignorant of these different nuances.
