Eight players can all be human, each starts with a different faction from Inferno to Fortress, and there are no teams. Monsters have ruled the land for three centuries, and the only cure is a stolen mystical hat. Recovering that artifact wins the game, while losing all towns and heroes ends a player's chances. The terrain is mostly grass, subterranean, dirt and lava, with about a tenth water. The map holds 44 towns, 23 starting heroes, 138 monoliths and portals, and 133 mines.
