Underdogs is a medium underground map of 72 by 72 tiles, played for four players, with only one human seat and three computer-controlled colors (Blue, Tan and Orange). Red and Blue fight as Rampart, Tan as Castle and Orange as Dungeon, and no teams are set. The author's note describes six underdogs with individual specialties setting out against an invincible hero, Gelu of New Avlee. Victory requires defeating one specific hero, while the game is lost if the 112-day limit runs out. Terrain is mostly rock, with grass and rough ground at about 15 percent each and water at 8 percent. Notable features include a Grail, eleven mines, five creature banks, and two monoliths and portals, plus a range of artifacts such as the Crown of the Five Seas and the Golden Goose.
