Ultima is an Extra Large 144 by 144 tile map for Heroes of Might and Magic III: Shadow of Death, with an underground level alongside the surface. Six players can take part, all of them human-capable, with no teams and random factions for each color. Victory requires defeating every enemy, and a player is eliminated once they lose all towns and heroes. The difficulty is set to Impossible. Roughly a quarter of the map is water and about a quarter is subterranean ground, with rock and grass making up much of the rest. Terrain aside, the map holds 27 towns, 61 mines, 7 creature banks, and 257 random monster stacks, plus wandering stacks of Crystal Dragons, Azure Dragons, Rust Dragons, and others. Fifteen artifacts are scattered across it, including the Crown of the Supreme Magi and the Hellstorm Helmet.
