Six players share the field, with up to three controlled by humans and the other three left to the computer, and the players form four teams. Sand covers nearly nine tenths of the land, with only a sliver of water. Three rulers have sent deputies to hold a barren desert rich in gold. The factions include Castle, Rampart, Stronghold and Cove, while several players begin with a mix of six town types. Victory requires defeating all enemies, and a player loses by losing every town and hero.
