Triumph of the Necromancer is a Hard map on an extra large 144 by 144 board with an underground level. It stages a final struggle between good and evil, which the author expects good to lose. Eight players take part, but only one can be human, and seven colors are computer-controlled with no teams. Red plays Necropolis, five players use Castle, and Green and Teal play Tower and Rampart. Rock covers 39 percent of the terrain, with water at 21 percent, grass at 16 percent, and subterranean ground at 9 percent. Expect 15 towns, 46 mines, 68 creature banks, and 16 monoliths and portals, plus placed artifacts such as the Pendant of Total Recall. Victory requires capturing one specific town, while losing a specific hero ends the game in defeat.
