Each color plays a different town type: Tower, Rampart, Necropolis, Castle, Dungeon, Stronghold, Fortress, and Inferno. Victory requires defeating all enemies, and a player loses by losing all towns and heroes. Rock, water, and subterranean terrain make up most of the surface, with 34 towns, 140 mines, and 12 seer huts spread across it. Wandering Rust Dragons and Crystal Dragons are among the strongest roaming threats, and the map holds the Grail and a number of placed artifacts, including Armageddon's Blade and the Armor of Wonder.
