Tomes of Zirildia is an Armageddon's Blade map of extra large size, 144 by 144, played on the surface with no underground level. It is built around searching an island for clues that lead to the hidden Four Tomes of Magic, with the player facing many beasts along the way. Two players take part, with one human seat and a computer-controlled Blue player who plays a Fortress. Red is random. There are no teams. Water covers about 31 percent of the map, with grass and snow making up most of the rest. The map holds three towns, twelve mines, a seer hut, six creature banks, and a range of wandering monster stacks, including infernal troglodytes, centaur captains, and naga queens. Dwellings offer creatures such as dragons, giants, and genies. Victory requires acquiring a specific artifact, and a player loses by losing all towns and heroes.
