Eight players split into two teams, with one human seat and seven computer colors. The demon Ignatius has seized King Christian's empire and placed his agents in its towns, while Christian flees his old capital and tries to reach a western capital to raise an army. Factions include Castle, Necropolis, Fortress, Rampart, Tower, Dungeon, Stronghold, and Inferno. Victory means defeating one specific hero, and a player loses by losing all towns and heroes. Rock and water cover much of the terrain, and the map holds 42 towns, 120 mines, and the Grail.
