The Untold Heroes is an Extra Large underground map for Shadow of Death, built around the idea of a lost bloodline of legendary fighters wiped out by a catastrophe long ago, and the question of whether the player is their surviving descendant. It is played on a 144 by 144 board with seven players, all of whom may be human, and no teams. The factions are Rampart, Tower, Castle, two Inferno players, Necropolis and Dungeon. Victory requires defeating all enemies, while a player loses once all of their towns and heroes are gone. Water covers about 31 percent of the map and rock another 27 percent. Notable features include the Grail, 75 mines, 28 monoliths and portals, and five seer huts, along with a number of placed artifacts and wandering monster stacks.
