The Tale of the Mighty is an Armageddon's Blade map of extra large size, 144 by 144, with an underground level and Impossible difficulty. Azure dragons have imprisoned eight powerful heroes, and each player must free their own hero and face the dragons. Eight players can all be human, grouped into four teams, with one faction each: Castle, Rampart, Tower, Inferno, Necropolis, Dungeon, Stronghold, and Conflux. Victory requires defeating a specific monster, and a player loses by losing all towns and heroes. The land is mostly rock, subterranean ground, dirt, and lava, with 48 towns, 129 mines, and the Grail on the map. Wandering Familiars and Ghost Dragons roam the terrain, and artifacts such as Armageddon's Blade and the Armor of Wonder lie among the secrets to uncover.
