The Slayer is a small underground map of 36 by 36 tiles, built for the Restoration of Erathia version and rated Expert. It is designed for two players, with only one human seat; the Red side is controlled by the computer and holds Tower, Inferno and Necropolis, while the Blue player takes Castle. There are no teams. Victory requires defeating all enemies, and the player loses if a specific hero falls. The terrain is a mix of swamp, grass, water and lava, with water covering about a sixth of the surface. Four towns, five heroes, two mines and two seer huts are placed across the map, along with six monoliths and portals, two timed events, and several wandering monster stacks including dendroid guards, fire elementals and a beholder. Notable artifacts include the Centaur's Axe, the Sphere of Permanence and the Vial of Lifeblood.
