The Rescue is an extra large underground map for Restoration of Erathia, measuring 144 by 144 tiles and set on two levels, with the upper and lower worlds both playable. Four players each control one faction, Tower, Castle, Necropolis, or Inferno, and all four can be human. There are no teams. Victory comes from defeating every enemy, and a player loses once all of their towns and heroes are gone. Lava, grass, and snow cover much of the land, with water making up about a fifth of it. The map holds twelve towns and four starting heroes, along with 139 mines, fifteen seer huts, and eleven creature banks. Wandering Gold Golems, Fire Elementals, and Walking Dead roam the land, and fifteen artifacts are placed around the map, including Angel Wings and the Endless Sack of Gold.
