The Ragnarok — RoE
Overview
Written from the facts in this map's file
The Ragnarok is a medium two-player map measuring 72 by 72 on the surface, with no underground level. It is set for two human players, Red as Rampart and Blue as Inferno, with no teams and no computer-only colors. The author's description frames the choice as standing against a dark lord's armies to protect the realm, or joining the dark forces against humanity, and hints at a legendary Grail. Terrain is mostly grass, with lava covering about a third of the map and water the rest. Victory requires acquiring a specific artifact, while a player loses by losing all towns and heroes. The map is rated hard, and it holds seven towns, one placed hero, and the Grail. Notable features include wandering Archangels, Chaos Hydras, and a Black Dragon, along with 21 mines and 12 monoliths and portals.
