The Middle Kingdom — RoE

The Middle Kingdom is a large underground map measuring 108 by 108, built for the Restoration of Erathia version and rated Expert. It supports eight players, with one human player and seven computer-controlled colors, grouped into four teams. The factions are Inferno, Castle, Necropolis, Rampart, Fortress, two Tower players, and a Dungeon and Stronghold player. The author describes a long-peaceful kingdom whose borders are now under escalating conflict, and the player must rise and settle the dispute. Victory requires defeating all enemies, while a player loses by losing all towns and heroes. Rock covers about 39 percent of the map, with snow, water, and subterranean terrain making up much of the rest. Notable features include 20 towns, 18 starting heroes, 15 wandering Water Elemental stacks, several dragon stacks, and placed artifacts such as the Crown of Dragontooth.
