The Mantis's Adventure is a small underground map on a 36 by 36 grid, set at Normal difficulty for two players, with only one human allowed. The computer-controlled side is Blue, and there are no teams. Red is random and Blue plays Stronghold. The author's Russian description, paraphrased here, describes a hero waking with a headache in an unfamiliar place, unsure of his name or where his castle is, and invites the player to take on the Mantis. Victory requires transporting a specific artifact, and losing a specific hero ends the game. The terrain is mostly dirt, swamp and grass, with about eleven percent water. The map holds three towns, twenty-one seer huts, nine creature banks, and the Grail. Wandering Azure Dragons are the most common threat, and artifacts such as Angel Wings and Armageddon's Blade are placed across the map.
