The Gorgon Beastmaster is an extra large underground map of 144 by 144 tiles, set at expert difficulty. A powerful beastmaster lurks in the deepest caverns and threatens the surrounding lands. Four human players can take part, and a fifth, the Tan player, is controlled only by the computer. The five players form three teams and fight with Tower, Inferno, Fortress, Dungeon and Castle factions. Victory requires defeating all enemies, and a player is eliminated after losing every town and hero. Grass covers about 34 percent of the map, rock 25, subterranean ground 18 and water 12. The map holds 21 towns, a wandering Mighty Gorgon, and an Orb of Inhibition, along with 38 random artifacts and 248 random monster stacks.
